The ABC (Arts Bring Change) Grant program is a local arts-in-education
funding program offering support for partnerships between schools and
teaching artists and/or cultural organizations that focus on the interdisciplinary
or integrated study of the arts and non-arts subjects. ABC Grants are
available to all public, private, parochial or charter schools, pre-K
thru 12, located in Staten Island. This program is funded and supported
by the Local Capacity Building (LCB) Initiative at the Arts-in-Education
Program at the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
The
GAINS (Growing Arts in Neighborhood Schools) Awards In
2008, four schools each received $3000.00.
The GAINS Program, supported by funds from The Staten Island Foundation,
expands COAHSI's capacity to connect with schools in efforts to provide
a structure and support to advance school-specific arts goals. The
GAINS Program accomplishes this in one of two ways: through Wish List
Grants and GAINS Awards.
GAINS
Awards 2008
GAINS Grantees > GAINS Awards recognize the on-going commitment of schools
that continually put the arts front and center in teaching in learning.
Recipients of these awards must be able to demonstrate a consistent commitment
to the arts and must have received two COAHSI arts-in-education grants
in three consecutive years. Recipients can use GAINS Awards for any purpose
that supports the arts in learning. In 2008, the four
following schools each received $3000.00 for going the “extra mile”
to bring the arts closer to those they serve. This program is supported
by The Staten Island Foundation.
