Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the COAHSI Artist Registry?The COAHSI artist registry is a multi-disciplinary, on-line artist database for artists living in Staten Island. The registry offers a way to view works in a variety of media: written word, visual art, video, music, spoken word, among other forms. The artist registry provides a way for artists to connect with curators, schools, organizations, community organizations, and businesses. Who is eligible to join the registry?In order to join the registry, artists must be full-time residents of Richmond County and a member of COAHSI. Artists of all disciplines are welcome. What are the steps to post to the registry?There are five steps to the application:
Are artist portfolios reviewed by COAHSI staff?All portfolios to the registry go live on the Web site immediately upon completion. A staff member of COAHSI reviews portfolios to determine that all submissions are compatible with the purpose of the registry. Questions about portfolios will be directed to artists via e-mail. COAHSI does reserve the right to remove any content that it deems inappropriate. COAHSI is not responsible for any items posted on the artist registry, the posting artist retains all rights and responsibilities. What if I am a literary artist and do not have any images?Literary and musical artists can upload work samples: pdf files of writing or mp3 files of music, for example. We also suggest that these artists upload at least one image to their portfolio, such as an author photo or album cover, to be used as a thumbnail in searches.
